Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre chef Dev Gandhi has been crowned the Australian Culinary Federation (ACF) Most Outstanding Chef 2026.
The remarkable achievement came after Dev won gold medals in all three categories he entered at the prestigious ACF Culinary Challenge, which took place during Fine Food Australia at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 31 August to 3 September.
Competing against some of Australia’s most talented culinary professionals, Dev secured gold in the poultry, seafood and vegetarian cuisine categories, demonstrating exceptional skill, creativity and technical excellence across a diverse range of disciplines.
The Australian Culinary Federation Culinary Challenge is one of the country’s leading culinary competitions, providing chefs with the opportunity to test their skills against national standards and showcase innovation, technique and presentation.
Executive Chef Andreas Gober said Dev’s success reflected both his talent and dedication to continuous improvement.
