The organisers of the Plastics Recycling Show Asia (PRS Asia) have announced that the 2026 edition of the event will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre in China, from 3–5 November 2026.
The decision to relocate follows feedback from exhibitors and visitors, and is intended to broaden the event’s regional scope. PRS Asia, which focuses exclusively on the plastics recycling industry, has previously taken place in Singapore and is considered one of the leading events of its kind in the region.
According to Matt Barber, Global Events Director at Crain Communications, interest in bringing the event to China had grown significantly since its launch. The Shanghai edition is expected to build on previous successes and attract wider participation from the plastics recycling industry across China and Southeast Asia.
Winnie Song, Exhibition Director at Min Metals, noted that China is a key market for the plastics recycling sector. She cited government initiatives focused on the circular economy as a key driver of growth, and said the event would offer international businesses opportunities to engage with the Chinese market.
PRS Asia is organised by Crain Communications and Min Metals, with support from Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE) and the China Polyurethane Industry Association (CPUIA). The event connects stakeholders from across the plastics recycling value chain, including machinery suppliers, recyclers, raw material producers, brand owners, government representatives and NGOs.
The exhibition and conference are free to attend and aim to foster knowledge sharing, business development, and networking opportunities within the sector. PRS events are also held in Europe (Amsterdam), the Middle East & Africa (Dubai), and India (Mumbai).
