He brings vast experience in large commercial organisations and hospitality sectors across Australia and Asia. Jones replaces Ian Chalmers who has transitioned into a new role as he approaches retirement following an extraordinary career with ASM Global including 27 years at BCEC and three years at Suncorp Stadium.

BCEC General Manager, Kym Guesdon thanked Ian and his team for the strong foundational work that has been essential for the successful and continuous operation of the venue.

Welcoming Cliff Jones to the Centre, Guesdon said she was confident he will be a valuable addition to the team with his depth of knowledge and high levels of achievement over many years in the role of Facilities Director.

For his part, Jones believes his background in strategic planning and strong commercial experience will be of benefit to the role. Describing himself as a hands-on, people-focused manager, the Centre’s new Facilities Director has already begun meeting with department heads and members of his team.

Commenting on his new role, Cliff Jones said he is looking forward to continuing and building on the critical work already in progress with an eye on the future, and eager to work with the broader Facilities Team in providing quality services and support to clients.
